When wondering around Paris you just can't help but notice how incredibly chic everybody looks, the Parisian style is so effortless and beautiful it really is quite inspiring. The Parisians have a lot to work with, during my recent trip I couldn't get over how cheap vintage pieces are and how many thrift stores you can find in such a small area. I purchased 'Paris Street Style - A guide to effortless chic by Isabelle Thomas and Frederique Veysset' on amazon recently and I haven't been able to put it down since!

It has really good tips on creating the typical Parisian Chic look on any budget, the photography is gorgeous and the book is full of interviews with people in the fashion industry sharing their thoughts on style. It lists all the key pieces you need to achieve the classic look including a cashmere sweater and the perfect bag. This book really has covered all the basis from footwear to accessorises and I really recommend it if you are thinking of creating a capsule wardrobe.

Bourjois Bronzing Primer

It's no secret that I like the sun-kissed just stepped off a plane look, so any product with bronze in the title has me from the start. When I first read about the Bourjois Paris Bronzing Primer I was a tad excited to say the least and as soon as it was released I bought it. I'm a little lazy when it comes to primer but I have found myself reaching for this product a lot. It has all the qualities of other primers I have tried; it smooths out skins texture with a velvet finish, it mattifies and helps your make up stick around all day. But whereas most primers are colourless, this one gives a lovely bronzed glow to the skin. The pot it comes in makes it easy to get just the right amount of product, you really only need a little, I smooth it on with my fingers and then make sure it is all blended with my Real Techniques Expert face brush. You can wear this alone, or under foundation.

I like pairing this with the Revlon Photo Ready Foundation, I love this foundation for nights out but I find it doesn't stay around for long, but when I use it in conjunction with my primer it lasts a lot longer. The two together give a really flawless, matte finish with a lovely sun kissed glow.

Paris Part Deux

I have so many pictures from my honeymoon! One of the best parts about the Latin Quarter where we stayed was the local cinema, it was tiny! It had a little ticket booth outside, it really was like something out of a movie! Not at all like most cinemas today, I mean it probably only had about 20 seats and with a name like Le Desperado how could we not spend almost every evening there!

Le Desperado were having a Alfred Hitchcock week during our stay, all the movies were played in English with French subtitles which was great, The first night we watched ‘ The Man Who Knew too Much’ – 1934. It was really tense! The next night we went they were showing ‘Notorious’ -1946 with the ever so handsome Cary Grant. On our last night in Paris we watched Psycho!! Definitely wasn’t scared to shower after that;)

Paris

Earlier this year I went to Paris for my Honeymoon. We had sun, snow and a little rain but nothing could have dampened our spirits! We stayed for six nights in a lovely boutique hotel right in the centre of Paris by the Notre-Dame called Hotel Atmospheres, it was so romantic. We wanted to fit lots in to our holiday so we busied ourselves with lots of art galleries, stunning scenery and adorable shops with all kinds of Parisian treats (yes, we ate ALOT of macaroons!)

We ate alot of everything for that matter, French food is gorgeous! My favourite moment had to be an evening boat ride along the river Seine, watching the sun go down with the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower. Here are a few of our photos, Enjoy!
