Running out of Bioderma

It eventually happened, the sad day when my Bioderma actually ran out, I almost cried when the last little beautiful drop fell onto the cotton pad, now ladies if you wear waterproof mascara you will know exactly what I am going on about here, once you find a remover that can make even waterproof mascara budge you know it is love. Now normally I am one step ahead of the ball and have a lovely fresh full bottle just sitting in my bathroom cabinet waiting patiently to be opened, this time however I had forgotten to replenish my Bioderma stock and almost fell over when I opened the door to see nothing sitting there waiting.

Now Bioderma is slowly becoming more available in England but you still have to order it online and wait for it to be delivered - not great if you need it that very day, so in an emergency I may have ran to Boots and panic bought the nearest thing to Bioderma I could get my hands on, enter Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, suitable for sensitive skin, now as you can see the overall look of the product is very similar to Bioderma's packaging but as we all know it's what's inside that counts so here are my thoughts...

I happened to be having a real smokey eye moment the day I tried this so I knew it would be the perfect challenge for the cleansing water, as I do with my Bioderma I popped some onto a cotton pad and wiped my eye make up off, and it worked! No rubbing or scrubbing needed, it just removed everything easy peasy. Just like Bioderma the mix of oil and water creates such a gentle cleanser that you really cannot fault.

So will you be trying out the Garnier Micellar Water?

The Must Have: Bioderma Micellar Solution

Disclaimer: This product was sent to me for review.

After my recent skin care post featuring Avene's Gentle Cleanser I thought I would talk about another product that is also great if you have sensitive skin, enter the Bioderma Sensibio H20 Micellar Solution, specially made for sensitive skin this is hands down the best make up remover I have ever used, waterproof mascara literally disappears and matte heavy lipstick is long gone. The solution is a combination of oil in water molecules meaning that it is as gentle as a water cleanser but works just as well as an oil one ... best of both worlds. Like Avene's Gentle Cleanser this feels so lightweight and kind to the skin, after wiping this all over the face there is no need to rinse this off, just go straight onto moisturiser. Buying this cult french product used to be an eBay only affair but it is now available online at Escentual.com.

The lovely people at Escentual also sent me a few Bioderma sample products to try and I have been loving the Sensibio Moisturiser as part of my evening routine. What are your favourite Bioderma products?

Under £5 Beauty Buys

£5 doesn’t get you much especially when it comes to beauty products I think I have found some real gems that all retail at £4.99 leaving you a bit of change! First up is a product that I loved so much I used it up and just had to re-purchase a new one! Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz is 100% organic and claims to cleanse impurities and leave your face feeling refreshed, well it certainly does that, I use this product after cleansing to get rid of any last scraps of make-up that may have got left behind, the smell is so fresh and it leaves my skin feeling clean and soft all ready for a blob of moisturiser! Vaseline Spray & Go New Body Moisturiser Aloe Fresh is the perfect moisturiser, it doesn’t leave you with that sticky can’t get dressed feeling, you spray over your body, rub in and it is instantly absorbed. It leaves your skin feeling so soft!

Up next is the L’Oreal New Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution , Being a fan of Bioderma Micellar Water I was interested to try L’Oreal version as it is quite abit cheaper, at £4.99 it comes in under our £5 budget! It claims to dissolve make-up, unclog pores, remove impurities, and tone and soothe skin. Like Bioderma you use with a cotton pad and sweep across the face without needing to rub and make-up comes right off!! This product is suitable for sensitive skin as well which is a plus. I hope more brands catch on the this Micellar water/solution craze, I like it!
