Glossy Box - The London Edition

I love this months Glossy Box, all the products have been so useful so far so I thought I would do a little post on the London Edition, my favourite product has to be the full size HD Brows blush, it is the most gorgeous shade that adds subtle definition to the cheeks, I remember on of my first Glossy Boxes contained the HD Brows eyebrow powders which I am still using on a daily basis, I am so impressed with this brand. Another products I particularly liked in this months box was the pre-glued lashes from Eylure, these are great if you want a really quick way to take your make up from day to night. The limited edition Shine Gloss Serum from Toni and Guy gives my hair brilliant shine, I will definitely be picking up a full size bottle of this beauty.

Think Pink - Favourite Lacquers

There is something so lovely about a perfectly manicured set of pink nails, now I can be a little set in my neutral ways when it comes to nail polish but here is a few of my girly favourites for when I feel I need some pink in my life. First up is my first ever O.P.I purchase Strawberry Margarita, it is a beautiful bold true pink that applies like a dream, this is still my favourite O.P.I polish.

From Barry M I love the Gelly Hi-Shine in Pomegranate, technically not a pink but it is very similar to Raspberry so it is more of a grown up girly statement, another not really pink is Peach Melba, this looks lovely with a nice tan. Now I know your thinking the pale whitish Essie shade pictured does not look pink but Ballet Slippers has a very subtle baby pink hue, this needs around three coats to make it opaque but I promise you the colour is worth the hassle. And finally my newest lacquer in my collection Essie's Muchi Muchi, I mean have you seen a more stunning pink shade, this just looks like strawberry milkshake on the nails, and if your going for the pastel trend (think Burberry S/S 14) then this shade is for you.

What's your favoutite pink hue?

Saturday Catch Up

This week has been a bit of a quite one for me, I've had a few extra days off work which have been nice, I was also a little poorly hence the pretty flowers. A gorgeous Antique shop has opened up really close to where I work so I have been helping out there a bit, the shop is called Encore and it has some really lovely pieces, I actually just purchased the chair pictured which I can't wait to start using. Talking of work how stunning is the Emerald and Diamond teardrop cluster ring we recently got in at the Jewellers, such a beautiful colour. Luca and I have been getting experimental in the kitchen with homemade carrot soup and sweet potato Shepherd's pie, let me know if you would like the recipes.

What have you lovely lot been up to this week?

Burt's Bees Trio

Whilst wondering the aisles of Boots the other day I came across the Burt's Bees section, I have heard alot of great things about this brand so I picked up this trio as I thought it would be a great introduction into the types of products they have. Plus it came in a sweet little tin so I just had to have it. Burt's Bees products are 100% natural so I couldn't wait to start using them. I purchased the Hand Salve which is an intensive balm that moisturises and treats rough and dry hands, this smells lovely and really does the trick. The trio also includes the traditional Burt's Bees Beeswax Lipbalm, this contains almond oil and emollient lanolin which help to care for dry and cracked lips which is something I definitely suffer with during the colder months so this will come in useful this winter. My favorite of the three products has to be the Lemon Cuticle Cream which contains beeswax, sweet almond oil and lemon oil, all which help to keep those cuticles looking in top tip condition. To use this I just rub it into my nail bed pushing the cuticles back at the same time.

This is the perfect little set for a gift or if you just fancy treating yourself. What do you think of Burt's Bees products?

The Everyday Lip: Rose Neon

I love a good pink lipstick, and this pink by Bourjois is great for every occasion, it is from the Rouge Edition range which covers shade from lovely neutrals to daring reds. 'Rose Neon' stood out to me whilst browsing the collection and after swatching it I knew this would be a perfect everyday shade. The formula is creamy and glides over the lips giving bright, long lasting colour. The brand promises ten hour hydration, I'm not sure I would agree with that bold statement but I do think this lipstick gives alot of moisture to the lips.

Bourjois Rouge Edition in Rose Neon £7.99 in Boots.

Skincare: Rehydrating Rose From Neal's Yard

I have so many moisturisers but I still always find myself reaching for a body butter from The Body Shop, recently however after grabbing this offering from Neal's Yard in a moment of dry skin panic I seem to not be able to put it down, it is the Re hydrating Rose Daily Moisture lotion for normal skin. First off the smell is lovely, it combines damask rose, calendula, starflower and hyaluronic acid which together helps keep the skins balance in check. I mostly need to moisturise on my knees, legs and arms and I find just popping abit of this on does the trick perfectly. It takes hardly any time at all for my skin to absorb so I don't have to deal with that sticky, not being able to get dressed situation. I really recommend this if you have normal skin and are looking for an everyday moisturiser to keep your skin looking in top tip condition.

Brow Taming: Maybelline Master Shape

I'm more of a powder gal when it comes to filling in my eyebrows, but after watching a recent Tanya Burr tutorial where she used the Maybelline Master Shape pencil I thought I would cheat on my HD Brows pallet. The problem I have with pencils is I find the overall finish a little harsh and unnatural, but the consistency of this pencil is really waxy, which gives it real staying power and gives an undetectable filled in brow. I love the brush at the other end of the pencil, combing through after filling in softens the brows and blends all the hairs with the product. Unless you are gifted with Lily Collins esque eyebrows I really recommend this pencil for keeping those brows looking full.

Are you more of a pencil or powder gal when it comes to filling in?

The Sunday Post: Making Photo Albums

My computer is full of photographs that I lovingly upload and then manage to forget about, my family isn't one for having photo albums so when I first met Luca's Grandparents and they showed me their huge collection of family albums I thought one day that will be me, so off I went down to Jessops with my memory card and got them all printed. I think there is something so wonderful about having all your memories in a scrap book or album that you can pull out any time you want to reminisce.  I have also been working on a little project with my wedding photographs, I wanted to give an album to Luca's parents with pictures of our big day and our invitations, these will be great to look back on in the future.

Do you prefer photo albums or do you keep them on your computer?

The Cult Product: Maybelline Baby Lips

Unless you live under a rock then you will definitely of heard of Maybelline's Baby Lips, as far as cult products go these are surprisingly cheap at £2.99 each, but what makes these lips balms a cult product? Since these came over from the US of A these lovely balms have been plastered all over the beauty blogs and people can't seem to get enough. I have been trying these out now for a few weeks so I thought I would give you my thoughts on Baby Lips. Intense Care and Mint Fresh are both clear moisturising lip balms, Intense Care has a wonderful honey scent and Fresh Mint smells of .. well mint, both of these do a great job of providing a good base for a drying lipstick, these also contain SPF 20 for that all important protection. Cherry Me, Peach Kiss and Pink Punch are all tinted and give gorgeous sheer colour, Peach Kiss is a subtle nude shade with a hint of sparkle, Cherry Me and Pink Punch are both wearable pink shades. The tinted ones are great if you are looking for something that is going to give you colour and intense moisture all in one.

Have you got your hands on these yet?

The Everyday Face

Once in a while I get stuck in a make up rut where I only wear the same few products, this is either due to sheer laziness or it means I have found some amazing products that I simply cannot live without, and with this weeks everyday face it is the latter. For a normal working day I like to keep things to a minimum, meaning a light base, a hint of natural colour on cheeks and lips and a little eye definition with mascara.

I have been using the Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream in medium, this gives a lovely light coverage and evens out any bits of uneven skin tone, alongside the BB cream I have been loving Rimmel's Wake Me Up concealer, this is perfect for covering up dark circles under the eyes. For a hint of colour on my cheeks I have been reaching for Bourjois Cream Blush in Healthy Glow, really lovely subtle and wearable everyday colour. For lips I have been using my YSL lipstick in the shade Golden Melon, a gorgeous shimmery coral colour that has a satin finish. Finally to add some eye definition I have been using Max Factor's False Lash Effect Mascara which gives a really natural fluttery look to my lashes. I am really liking this product combination at the moment. Most of the products mentioned have full reviews already on my blog which I will link below -

Kevin Murphy Damage Manager

A heat protector spray is probably one of the most important products you can own, if you dry, curl or straighten your hair then I am sure you already know this, but how many times do you get mid blow dry and realise you have forgotten to apply some protection? I know I am rubbish at remembering! That is until I started using the Kevin Murphy Damage Manager - this product is an instant heat shielding spray, it makes my whole blow dry process much easier, this also makes my hair easier to manage when brushing, and when I use straighteners after apply this they seem to glide over the hair instead of dragging. As I find this such a pleasure to use I hardly forget this crucial step of my haircare routine now!

This product is a little on the pricey side but you do get 150ml and this will last a while. Also Kevin Murphy products don't test on animals if that is something that you think about when purchasing beauty products.

Currently Adoring: Gelly Hi Shine Lacquers

I have a fair few Barry M nail polishes, I think as a brand they offer incredible value for money when compared with other companies on the market and their wide shade range is wonderful. My most recent additions to my Barry M collection are from the Gelly Hi-Shine range. I picked up the shades Lychee - a lovely neutral shade that really suits my skin tone, Blueberry - a bright icy pale blue that really pops, Pomegranate - a deep warm red, similar to their Raspberry hue but a little deeper, and finally Blue Plum - my favourite of the bunch, it's a real dark, deep blue, this is such a classic nail colour.

I find these lacquers last really well on my nails if I use a top coat, my only issue is the brush, I just wish it was wider and flatter. Other than that though I really can't find any complaints about these polishes, and as for the name 'Gelly Hi-Shine' I can say it really does look like a gel manicure with a lovely shiny finish.

Have you picked up anything from Barry M recently?

NUXE Skincare

NUXE is a luxury French skincare brand that is known for its lovely products and Eco awareness. I wasn't really aware of the brand until my local Marks and Spencer's got a new beauty department which now hosts brands such as Philip Kinglsey and REN. Recently M&S have been having alot of beauty offers with lots of freebies, so after deciding that NUXE was the brand I wanted then I had to choose my products, the offer was buy two and receive a free toning lotion. I settled on the melting cleansing gel and the cleansing milk. After using them for a few weeks I thought I would give you an update on how I am finding them:

Gentle Toning Lotion with Rose Petals - This is such a refreshing toner, I apply this as the last step of my skincare routine to tone and cleanse my skin, I apply this onto a cotton pad and wipe all over my face. This leaves my skin feeling incredibly moisturised too!

Melting Cleansing Gel with Rose Petals - This is a really gentle make up remover, I rub this into my skin when wet and then rinse away with all my make up. It is really effective and because there is hardly any rubbing or scrubbing involved it is perfect for skin that is sensitive.

Comforting Cleansing Milk with Rose Petals -  This is definitely my favourite of the three products, I love that the bottle has a pump, I just put a few pumps onto a cotton pad and massage into my skin, again this is such a gentle cleanser that does a really good job of removing impurities and make-up.

This whole collection is suitable for sensitive skin, and all the products smell absolutely lovely. Get yourselves down to M&S and check out there wonderful beauty ranges.

M.A.C Morange Lipstick

M.A.C Lipsticks are renowned for being amazing and Morange is no exception. The colour first of all is the most gorgeous bright bold orange, it is a real red orange as opposed to a pinky/coral tone, this colour is so flattering against my skin tone. The formula is one of the Amplified Creme lipsticks, it applies really creamy and dries to a semi-matte finish, this lasts ages on the lips.

I like to keep the rest of my make up simple when using this as I only like to play up one feature at a time. Bold lips are so on trend at the moment, and I think this is the perfect bold colour to take you from summer to autumn.

Are you brave when it comes to a bold lip? or are you more of a neutral lip gal?
