Markets

The thing I love about going to a good market is that it is a great way of experiencing the culture of the country in one place, take the typical British market for example, there is the Bric a’ Brac, Cockney slang in every direction, homemade jams and chutneys, and about anything art and crafty.  The same can be said for Spanish markets, there is olives galore, breads, sandals, jewellery and plenty of fruit and vegetables.

Whilst in Spain we visited our local market to pick up a few souvenirs for our families, I think I got slightly sidetracked by all the lovely Turquoise jewellery so ended up with only one gift..
The Spanish produce on offer looked amazing, there were huge bits of meat hanging up everywhere, lots of different fruit stands, we bought a watermelon which was very refreshing!

Shopping in the heat is pretty hard work though so we spent the afternoon relaxing on the beach enjoying the sunshine!

Summer Holiday

As you may have noticed I haven’t blogged for a little while now, the reason being I have been on holiday! Luca and I popped on an plane to Spain (… see the little rhyming thing I did there)

We flew to Murcia in the South East of Spain, I haven’t been on a plane since before I can remember so for me it felt like a whole new experience. Where we stayed was really Spanish with not many tourists at all which was great! We went to the beaches everyday, ate tapas and drank tons of water ( it was HOT!!)

Our favourite beach by far was Calblanque, it is a nature reserve so there are no buildings, restaurants or bars, it is perfectly untouched. The sand is so golden and soft and the crystal clear water was beautiful. I cannot wait to go back!
