Now that summer has finally arrived in England I
think it is safe to say that it has just been too hot to keep those arms and
legs under cover of darkness, time to whip out the SPF and a bit of fake tan. I
love to have a slight summer glow all year round, it just gives you that extra
confidence boost when you need to get your pins out. I have tried lots of
different tanning products at all price points but here are a few of my
favourites:
Clarins Liquid Bronze Self
Tanning, first off the smell of this baby is
lovely (a rarity when it comes to fake tan) This product is for the face and
decollete, its has a very natural tone to it and builds up gradually so you
never wake up looking tangoed! I apply this to my face after cleansing before
bed using a large cotton wool pad. I sweep it across my face avoiding the brows
for an even glow. On the bottle it says it ‘Refreshes and softens’ which it
definitely does. If I use this I don’t even feel the need to moisturise.
125ml £18.00 Boots.
St Tropez Gradual Firming
Tan, I received this as a free gift with a Feel Unique order and
since receiving it it has made its way to the top of my gradual
tanning/moisturiser list. It has everything I love about St Tropez but it is a 4
in 1 that tans, tones, firms and moisturises. The instructions say to focus it
on your bum, hips and thighs, but I have mainly been using it for my legs if
they are feeling particularly dry, because the colour is so natural it does not
matter if you can’t be bothered to do your whole body. This product probably
wouldn’t have made it into my little online basket but now I have tried it I
will definitely be re-purchasing.
150ml £20 Feel Unique.
St Tropez Everyday Body Moisturise in
Medium Dark, ‘Infused with soothing Aloe Vera, building a gradual,
golden tan’ … Golden tan you say? I have been using this for years, It is the
perfect colour (and I know it says dark but it’s very natural) It is perfect to
use alongside my Xen-Tan for a mid week top up. It is very similar to the 4 in
1, probably the only difference I notice is it is slightly more olive toned. At
Feel Unique the price is very reasonable at £12.15 for 200ml making it much more
of a bargain than the firming version.
200ml £12.15 Feel Unique.
Xen-Tan Ultra Dark Absoloute Luxe Weekly
Self Tan, Where this one is different is that is
not a gradual product, you apply this using a mitt, leave it over night, shower
and then you have the perfect ‘I’ve just got off a plane from my holiday’ tan.
Unlike St Moriz and other tans I have tried this one lasts a whole week! It
doesn’t do that horrible patching thing mid week that makes you look slightly
ill, it fades gradually and I normally keep it going just a bit longer with a
bit of the St Tropez Gradual Moisturiser. Also unlike most false tans, this one
doesn’t have the horrible biscuit smell. However it is the most expensive, but
the tube lasts me 3 months plus and that is using it once a week so I would say
it is worth it.
236ml £28.99 Feel Unique.
So there is it, my current tanning favourites for
getting and maintaining the perfect summer glow!
Love Danielle
